For our trip Tuesday we took FM 532 south and west . This county road is nice for motorcycle riding with plenty of leaning curves,
ups and downs, nice scenery,
and lots of historical signs highlighting the area’s historical importance.
Our turnaround point was the town of Gonzales. We learned more Texas history at the Gonzales Memorial Museum.
Duane found this display. We first came across Soapy Smith in Alaska.
I liked this display of wedding dresses
and this swim suit.
Didn’t say what they used for a nipple.
Gonzales is an interesting historical town with more museums to visit, a driving tour, a walking tour,
including several nicely restored houses,
and the Gonzales Pioneer Village Living History Center.
The Village is small, with just 15 buildings moved to the site from the surrounding area telling the story of early Gonzales in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. During special events, volunteer docents in period costumes showcase the village with stories and demonstrations.

Our ride home took us along TX 90A,
through the town of Shiner, home of the Spoetzl Brewery which brews Shiner beers. (We didn’t go by the brewery.)
90A took us east then north back to Columbus and the Colorado River TT park.
The weather was still yucky today. Hope it behaves tomorrow.
