Jr. and Sr. worked together on chores today. In the morning they fixed a water line at the cabinet shop. In the afternoon they fixed the fencing and gates at the house so that the dog couldn’t get out onto the road.
In the evening the family would be attending a local horse riding competition called a Play Day. The adults helped the girls groom and saddle their horses for a bit of practice.
The girls took a break to welcome the new calves just delivered next door,
then got back to practice.
Grampa doing his duty while the girls get dressed.
Decked out in Texas cowgirl bling,
the girls loaded the horses and away we went.
Unfortunately, our beautiful afternoon gave way to an overcast evening with falling temperatures and a cold NE wind that went through quilts and coats. The schedule called for practice runs starting at 5 pm and the competition starting at 7pm. By 5:30 Brandey gave up and took the toddlers home. Gramps and I held out for the twins’ practice runs before we caved and headed for the house.
Sharing a ride.
Still having fun.
Louise and Duane

Grampa looks like he is having so much fun with all the animals on his shoulders. Too cute.
Oh so sorry the weather got so cold. But those girls are tuff staying out there and practicing. I would have been long gone.
