If we turn right out of the Thousand Trails Las Vegas RV Resort, we would eventually run into the famous Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. If we turn left we drive down the Boulder Highway into the neighboring town of Henderson.
Sam’s Town, opened in 1979, is one of the original locals’ casinos to open in the Las Vegas Valley. A locals’ casino is one that was meant to attract the locals, not the tourists.
Casinos offer some good meal deals. Most casinos do require you to apply for their players card.
Cowabunga Bay water park in Henderson.
We stopped by the civic center to check out the pickleball games.
From the gym we stopped by Costco, then picked up I 515 for home. Remember that we always travel in circles.
View of Las Vegas from the hill in Henderson.
Henderson has its own art: chair tree, swivel chair base turtle, car rim flowers, floor scrubber ring bush.
Desert quail
Las Vegas ‘burbs’ and country.
Out for an evening stroll, we turned right and ambled up the street to check out what Boulder Station Casino had to offer in the way of meal deals.
(There’s that creepy guy again.)
We walked around the casino awhile then went outside to this beautiful sunset.
Night street view.
Tomorrow, more about the location of this rv park.
