For his 69th birthday today, Duane got to do some very fun stuff and to learn some new things. First he got to take a walk with Mel (3 1/2) along this nice walking path that runs around her little neighborhood.
Then he got to carry her the last few yards home.
He got to play puzzles,
make Mel squeal with laughter,
and trick Mel and Katie (7) into giving him kisses by pretending he didn’t like them.
After lunch he got to drool over the new pickleball courts in town. They are so new that their grand opening is next week.
He got to drive the only dually pickup (almost the only pickup) in traffic. Here he learned that his left turn was the right one but farther down than he turned, that the right lane was the wrong one but the only one left, until it left. Then the middle was left, but left was still right.
He got to cruise the Costco and graze on ice cream samples. He’d just made the comment that odd things were shelved next to each other when we saw this shelf
across the aisle from this shelf (toothpaste and toothbrushes). Hmmm.
In the evening he got to teach the kids to play a card game called Wizard, and he won the game.
Hope your day was half the fun of his.
Louise and Duane
