Tomorrow is moving day; that made today “visiting friends” day. With Gene in Canada catching fish, our friend Barbara has had her cousin Lynn visiting for the last week. Today we rode the bike back to Greenville to visit her too. We enjoyed a nice visit before and after lunch.
On the way back to Pam and Eddie’s (note the proper spelling) we stopped by to visit Larry and Mary. Larry taught Duane ornamental blacksmithing. They have been living in Virginia, but have recently moved back to Ohio. They have bought this former church which was remodeled into a house by the former owner. The church is the main part of the house. The added building (where Larry and Duane are standing) was used for the minister’s study and classrooms.
The nave or main part of the church. The former owner added the upstairs with a rail made from the former pews. The left hand corner leads to
the kitchen.
Stained glass windows in the bathroom and bedroom.
We enjoyed our tour of the house and a chance to visit with more friends before we move on. This shot I took blindly over my shoulder. Pretty good, huh?!
Back at Pam and Eddie’s, we helped them and their daughter Toni to trim their apple trees.
Pam and I picked up branches and apples. My reward was enough apples for a couple of pies.
We said goodbye to Toni and the four of us rewarded ourselves with pizza at this Italian restaurant in Piqua (Ohio) called Beppo Uno. The pizza was good and our last visit was great.
Back at the house another of their daughters and her husband stopped by so we were able to visit with them a bit too.
That was a lot of visiting with a lot of friends we packed into today. We were glad to be able to see so many friends before we left the area.
Further east tomorrow.
Louise and Duane
