Moving day again, but only about 5 miles to park in the driveway of our friends Pam and Eddy. They weren’t due home for several hours so we backed up to the barn and hopped the bike for Christiansburg for lunch.
Loretta’s is one of those little hole in the wall family restaurants that we like. This one actually has really good food.
Today I ordered—and received—chef’s salad with dressing on the side.
After lunch we went around the corner to our old house. This used to be really pretty. The people who bought it let everything go. There is a nice brick ranch house back there that used to be visible from the road. Now everything is grossly overgrown and the place looks abandoned. This is another house that we both liked, besides the one in Texas.
Back at Pam and Eddy’s house we sat under the apple tree enjoying the cool breeze and talking to their daughter Toni. When our friends arrive, we spent the rest of the day with them, chatting, eating supper, chatting some more.
We really appreciate friends like Pam and Eddy and Gene and Barbara who let us camp in their driveway, use their bathrooms so we don’t fill up our tanks, and save us a boatload of camp fees. Pam and Eddy also changed an electric outlet to 30 amp rv service so that we could run our air conditioner. Their house is only about 10 miles from daughter Rachel and her family. Son Matt and his family are visiting Rachel so we plan to spend most of the week with them.
Yep! More family pictures on the way.
Louise and Duane
