Duane talked to his dr’s office today. He has an appointment on Apr. 12 for lab work in the morning. In the afternoon, we both have pre-surgery class. I am his coach; I need to know how to care for him and help him after surgery. He “gets his legs cut off” as he is fond of saying on April 25. What we don’t know is where he will be during recovery. Patients are usually sent home about 3 days after surgery and regularly attend out-patient physical therapy. Because of our small spaces at home, it will probably be difficult for him to maneuver around our rig. We were hoping that the physical therapist would recommend that he be in a nursing facility for the duration of his therapy. This may happen, but we won’t know until after the surgery. Then the pt will make the decision to send him to a facility or home. Meanwhile our next decision will be whether to sit where we are another week or to go ahead and move back to Kilgore next Tues.
Whatever we decide, we will keep busy doing our stuff.

You two will be very busy up to the surgery and beyond. If it is like Paul, especially since he is having his right knee done, he won't be allowed to work for awhile.
