Today the weather cleared a bit to give us chance to do some hiking in the Finger Lakes area. Together with Stacy and Ruth Ann, we headed for a couple of water falls in the area. First stop was Buttermilk Falls. We hiked about 1 mile to the base of the falls.
Buttermilk Falls
The hike back to the jeep was all up hill but we made it. We crossed a bridge about half way back which allowed us to hike right along the river.
The views on the way back were magnificent.
Lots of small falls all along the way.
Our next stop was Taughannock Falls. The small falls below is on the way to the big one.
Taughannock Falls
Taughannock Falls State Park's namesake waterfall is one of the outstanding natural attractions of the Northeast. Taughannock Falls plunges 215 feet past rocky cliffs that tower nearly 400 feet above the gorge.
After all that hiking we headed to Doug's Fish House for supper. We had eaten at the Doug's in Skaneateles last week and it was so good we decided to return. Doug's also has really good ice cream of which I had to a strawberry sundae. The sundae was made with fresh strawberries, yum yum.
Our time here is over. Tomorrow we head down the road a bit. We are only moving about 60 miles. We tried to add days here but they are all booked up for the 4th. We found another park fairly close by and we will able to visit with the girls at least one more time before departing for places east.
Till next time

What a gorgeous day. I just love seeing all the waterfalls. I actually pinned several photos to my travel Pinterest account. Hope we get up that way next summer.
