That's Rough!

This afternoon a loud noise made us look across the street at our departing neighbor.  We saw that he had stopped halfway in the street with his awning out.  We figured that he stopped when the awning hit the tree.

When Duane went to help he learned that the awning was toast, but hit the tree after the guy ran the front corner of his trailer and dragged it across the tree until the awning stopped it!
He kept trying to drive forward, before Duane convinced his that he had to back up, turn his wheels the opposite direction, and then pull out.

We had to laugh, though.  The guy had climbed a ladder to blow the leaves from his slide before he put it in, then left the awning out and the antenna up and drove the trailer into the tree!  He left his door glass in the grass, left his antenna up because he was afraid to open the door in case he couldn't get it closed again, left the awning partway out and finally managed to extricate the trailer from the tree.  When asked how far he had to go, in true Texas  fashion he airily replied "Only about 180 miles."

God bless Texas!
