Touring

We had passed this park before but today we decided to stop for a visit.
The Old Mill Pond Museum & Parrot Park consists of 14 buildings and pavilions on a beautiful 20+ acre site.

We visited the general store first

and found a cheerful and informative young woman inside.

Outside we strolled around the grounds, perusing the many historical artifacts, tools and machines that reflect early American life around 1850-1950

In the barn we discovered

a very nice display of saddles.

The chapel

was primitive but had an altar, a pulpit, and seating for about 30 people.  Outside there was a bell tower which invited me to "ring the bell for peace".
Light was provided by two round windows, front

and rear, each nicely painted with a white dove.

Outdoor exhibits included equipment to run a saw mill

and a moonshine still.  Next to the still the moonshine maker had a cot and a few clothes hung on a wall.

More touring tomorrow.
