Straight west on I10 we headed this morning with friends Barbara and Gene.
Our goal was the big gem and mineral show in Quartzite, AZ. We found rocks aplenty from all over the world, in all sizes, colors and shapes, in unpolished and polished.
We found crystals,
and fossils (not counting all the fossils walking around shopping.
(50-cent pieces in concrete)
As we enjoyed looking at all the beautiful rocks, Gene and I (the rockhounds) were shopping for the best price on grit for our rock tumblers. We made our choice, then piled in the truck to drive to the huge flea market .
We were surprised by the number of “new age, dreadlocked, hippies” we saw, some begging, some shopping.
This couple was shopping. The guy is on the left, the woman (I had to look three times to be sure) is on the right. The lady in the middle is one of those fossils.
After we found our bungee cords and Amish country jelly at the flee marked, we were ready to head east. We enjoyed this view of Saddle Mountain in the setting sun,
and arrived home in time to see the last glow from the other side.
We should sleep well tonight.
Louise and Duane
