Ottawa River Park

Although the Ottawa River Metro Park on the outskirts of Lima, Ohio is relatively small, it is first class.  I climbed this small hill to get an overall view of the whole park. Fronting on OH81 is the day use part of the park.  It consists of lots of grassy areas, three huge picnic shelters,

a nice (pay) swimming pond, and fishing pond.  Beyond the trees on the left is a nice big playground area.

The camping area is behind the day use area.

There is one building housing showers, restrooms, and a couple of vending machines.

The only other structure is the firewood shed.

There is one row of nice long w/e pull-thrus, three of which have 50 amp service and one handicap accessible.  Around the edges are back-in sites and lots of soft green grass for tents and playing.  All of the sites are paved and level.

To the left of the rv park is a very nice paved hike/bike path.  It winds around the area, but if you want a longer walk you can take it right through the city of Lima.

The path winds through grassy meadows with lots of wildflowers,

and through shady woods.

Several nice bridges cross streets,

and the Ottowa River.

We walked one mile then turned around and walked back.

Tomorrow, may be time for a bike ride.

Thanks for the review. We are always looking for campgrounds in Ohio.
