Off on one of our favorite rides from North Ranch (Escapees) RV Park just south of Congress AZ. From Congress the NV 89 curves to the foot of the Weaver Mountains.
Heading northeast up and around
to the top of the range. Through the town of Yarnell,
through a high Mojave Desert valley,
through the pass
to the beautiful city of Prescott (Prescut)
Whiskey Row, and
The Palace, Arizona’s most historic restaurant and saloon where we met friends Barb and Ben Staff for lunch.
The original Row burned to the ground. The story goes that the patrons of the saloon carried the bar and as much whiskey that they could across the street to the courthouse lawn, where they drank the afternoon away watching the place burn.
original bar where the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday hung out.
Other pleasures available upstairs.

Aren’t we a happy group.
I usually don’t take pix of food, but this presentation seemed out of place in the historic surroundings. It was good, though.
After a good two hour lunch and yak session, our friends went north, while we went west and south on Iron Springs Road.
At Kirkland we turned south east on NV 96 to Kirkland Junction where we backtracked our way
back through Yarnell and down the mountain, through Congress (on the left), and home.
We have taken this 3 hour round trip many times and never tire of it. In the next two months we plan on doing it again, but tomorrow we’ll do something else.
