From Las Vegas east on US 93 we finally got a close look at one end of Lake Mead. It was very low, as can be seen by the exposed white layer.
93 turned south winding up and down mountains and around and through the Mojave Desert, past constantly changing scenery.
After we passed Lake Mead we got our first look at Arizona.
The desert gradually filled with more and more plants
93 joined I40 going east at Kingman for a few miles, then turned south again.
Lunch stop at Wikieup at the Chicago Eatery. Good stuff.
Mountains of chocolate rock changed to rounded plant covered hills.
South and east we wound. The desert filled with plants.
A stretch of large boulders and saguaro cactus.
Straight through on the Joshua Forest Parkway of Arizona.
A turn on AZ 89 through Congress
to our new home for the next couple of months, Escapees North Ranch RV Park.
We had an all day ride through some beautiful, ever-changing scenery. Now we’re ready to sit for a while.
