Taking A Break

Our poor "house" is simply not equipped to keep out the high heat of a Texas summer--nighttime lows in the upper 70's, daytime in the upper 90's with a heat index of 105.  To cool off we drove to Kilgore, with the air conditioner on 68, blowing directly on us.  At son Jeremy's house we found the animals laying low, too,

Inside we found the house wonderfully cool and the family (except for Luke) waiting for the arrival of friends for a last minute carry-in and pool party (no social-distancers and mask-wearers in this bunch).  

We said hello, collected our mail and beat feet back to the truck before anymore people arrived.

The cool air on the way home was great too.
