Good bye
We spent 2 days driving around and enjoying Yellowstone. I hope we can return someday to spend some time hiking and seeing some of the sites we had to miss because of time. We saw a BUNCH of bison in the park and out the park when we were leaving. They get in the road and in no hurry to get out of your way. They would cause long delays in the traffic some times. The falls in the park are beautiful. There are so many hot springs we didn't take time to see them all. We are in Cody, WY right now at the Buffalo Bill Museum. Will head on east in the morning.

Views of Yellowstone

These are a few of our first day pictures from Yellowstone. We don't have internet at the camp site so I had to go down the road to connect. Will have lots more tomorrow.

On the move again

Deer watching us geocache

Smoke on the mountians

We have spent the last few days in Missoula, Montana waiting for our braking unit for the jeep. It arrived today, I installed it and we hit the road. In Boseman, Mt tonight in a Walmart. Tomorrow we are going to Yellowstone for 2 days then to Cody, WY for a couple of days, I think. I will have to do the math on miles and time so we are sure to be in Troy, Ohio by the 7th. We went geocaching in Missoula . We found it but couldn't figure out the password to get in it. There are fires all over this part of the country. You can see smoke rising from the hills all over the place. We keep driving through areas of smoke. We are on the interstate highway now so can't take as many pics. When we get to Yellowstone I will post a bunch.

Out of Canada and back in the lower 48

Roadside lake in Canada
Wheat fields in Washington State
Bear Glacier near Stewart, BC
Grand Coulee Dam in Washington
Worlds largest fly rod
Worlds largest Skies

We are back in the lower 48... After our trip to Hyder, Alaska we headed south. Didn't really expect to get here this fast but just kept driving, so here we are. Tonight we are in Spokane, Washington. We didn't know Washington grew this much wheat. We drove for 60 miles through nothing but wheat. Tomorrow we are going to Missoula, Montana where we will spend the weekend. We are having a new brake unit for the jeep sent there. The one we have went out on us. I called the manufacturer and they are sending it to a dealer there for us to pick up...FREE. Now that's service!!. We are planning to be in Ohio by the 7 of September. Going to stop at Yellowstone Park on the way if we have time. It's still a long way from here to Ohio, about 2000 miles. I hope we can get the stops in we want and still make it on time.

More bears

Eat you heart out Stacy. I have never seen so many long lens on cameras as I did today. I was almost ashamed to pull my little lens out....lol I really need a longer lens...lol We saw a total of 8 different bears today. This place is pretty cool.. I should have taken a pic of all the people that were there. Every time a bear would show up everybody would run to get a spot on the rail to take pictures. Had a great time. Tomorrow we head on down the road.

The bears of Hyder, Alaska

We went to the boardwalk at Fish Creek National Wildlife Refuge today. Now I get to bore you with pictures of bears for a while. These are a few of the morning pics I took. We went back to the rv for lunch and I downloaded the mornings take so I could post them. We are going back in a bit so I can take more. I know you are looking forward to more bears. I have more waterfalls to. Do you want to see them?...lol The park service has built a boardwalk about 300 yards long along the stream where salmon spawn. The bears come here to feed this time of year. We were going to come here on the way to Alaska but found out that the best veiwing time was August, so here we are. All the bears in these pictures are grizzlies. I hope to get some black bears tonight. We saw 2 coming here along the road but haven't been able to get a shot at one yet. When you slow down to take a picture, they run into the woods. Hope to have better luck with the blacks at Fish Creek.
